HempTek Goes To Washington DC on Hemp Lobby Day

In celebration of Hemp History Week and the historic Hemp Lobby Day on June 7th, 2018, HempTek.org, a non-profit leading advocate for hemp change, is assisting advocates from Vote Hemp and Agricultural Hemp Solutions in petitioning congressional leaders for passage of the Hemp Farming Act of 2018.
Eric Steenstra, President of Vote Hemp and Eric Blair, Editor-In- Cheif of Hemptek.org will collaborate efforts to educate leaders on Capitol Hill in gaining additional sponsors for the bill. The measure currently enjoys 30 bipartisan sponsors led by Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Ron Wyden (D-OR) and Rand Paul (I-KY).
Eric Blair will be representing Utah and Washington pushing for exponential farming opportunities in these western states. The bill is an integral measure in bringing back potentially millions of jobs that are otherwise lost to foreign entities that have taken the lead in the production of hemp products and cultivation. In 2018, nearly $700,000,000 in hemp products will be imported from other countries, namely Canada, China and India. These imports could easily be minimized within a couple years with the passage of this historic legislation opening the door to an entirely new economic sector.
